1922年の創業から、繊維産業とともに歩んできました。児島のものづくりを支えた染色の時代を経て、2022年に創業100周年を迎えました。培ってきた土地とのつながりを、これからの事業にもつないでいきます。
Founded in 1922, Hatayama Dye Works grew alongside Kojima's textile industry. After decades in dyeing, we marked our centennial in 2022 and continue to build on our ties to this place.
THE ART OF DYEING
色は、素材を知ることからColor begins with understanding the fiber.
畑山染工場は、吉田カバンの製品に用いられる生地の染色に携わってきました。染色事業を終える際には、担当してきた生地の情報を次の加工先へ引き継ぎました。
Hatayama Dye Works was involved in dyeing fabric used in Yoshida & Co. products. When our dyeing operations ended, we passed information about the fabric we had handled to the next processor.
染色では、繊維の種類、糸の太さ、織りの密度によって染料の入り方や色の見え方が変わります。綿とナイロンのように性質の異なる素材を組み合わせた生地では、それぞれの特性を見極め、狙う色と風合いに近づけるための調整が求められます。素材と向き合い、工程を重ねることが染めの仕事でした。
In textile dyeing, fiber type, yarn thickness and weave density all affect how a color appears. A fabric combining different materials, such as cotton and nylon, calls for careful attention to their distinct properties and adjustments toward the intended shade and texture. Understanding the material was central to the work of dyeing.
